Florida webmasters: Content Management Sites (CMS)

The term CMS simply means Content Management System. Joomla, Wordpress, E107, and others are CMS style sites which once setup and customized allow you to manage your sites content, create new content and pages, and they generally contain features such as Blogs, Forums, RSS feeds, and perhaps other modules and features (depending upon which CMS you use).

They are powerful systems ALL of which are Database driven so if you already have a hosting account somewhere you will need to be able to create Databases at your site and have the full spectrum of PHP services available to you or none of them will work with your existing service company!

Using a CMS system for your sites needs is the BEST possible solution for your important business and a wise decision indeed!

We ONLY design/setup CMS style sites for a client in fact. We have tried all sorts of other systems and styles for web sites over the years (since 1993) and have found that the CMS type sites perform well for in the search engines and are far easier for the client to use to MANAGE their sites content and generally less expensive than the old web 1.0 type sites (basic html sites).

We have a highly modified and populated E107 CMS version we setup for a clients needs. YES - You can download and install a default E107 CMS yourself for FREE online at their site, but it will NOT be anywhere near close to the modified version we use for any new clients we serve.

It would pretty much take a seasoned programmer MONTHS (and at a cost of $50.00 per hour it WILL be expensive) to get anywhere near the same as we install for a client :)

• Automatically syndicated News Articles: When you create a new News Item it is syndicated via RSS feeds which the search engines LOVE and makes it easy for your viewers to SUBSCRIBE to to keep up to date about the happenings at your site
• Six different Searchable Classifieds modules: Includes General, Automotive, Boats, Business sections, Realty Sections, and Personals. You can allow memberships for FREE for the General classifieds such as allowing Members of your site to post Garage Sale notices, Lost and Found items, etc....  (help generate interest by offering Free Classifieds), and CHARGE a fee per post to the other sections as you wish.

• Chat Box: is Ajax controlled and can be setup to allow casual member to member chats if you wish
• PM System: member to member means of allowing members to safely contact each other, send small files back and forth and more. Works sorta like a Private Email System
• Secure online PayPal type shopping cart system: allows you to place articles for sale ONLINE and checkout at PayPal, OR opt for Email only type ordering
• EMS: member to member search utility allows a member to FIND another member maybe interested in the same things (playing chess, fishing, hunting, Dating, etc)
• IPhone or Cell Phone viewing of your site: People CAN VIEW your site on their cell phones and such using a Specialized Template designed for such
• Theme Changer: this can allow for certain Modules/pages to load into a totally unique template for a different look when viewing that Module/Page, etc
• Small Banner Ads: can be displayed and logged per impressions/page views and more for Advertising purposes
• Members Article Columns: This is much like the news articles but can be assigned on a per member basis.. You can say assign a Fishing Channel to a local Bait and Tackle shop,Give that member RIGHTS to post their content within that channel and CHARGE THEM for such rights accordingly or offer it FREE to them as you wish.
• Links section: basically allows members you wish the ability to add Links to their sites at yours.
• Jokes, Arcade Games, Postcards: These are geared at keeping viewers of your site interested as they may COME to your site once to see what it is about and then move on! With offering them fun Games, and Free Postcards they can send out, they will more likely BOOKMARK your site refer it to friends of theirs and return again and again.
