The
Search engine optimization (SEO) Pro is an expert in helping to get
your site well listed in the search engines, as well as at other sites
relating to your business model. It is NOT for someone who does NOT
know what they are doing as they can get your site banned from the
search engines if done improperly!
There are several steps the SEO person needs to do: - They will analyze your existing content and keyword/phrases count
- They
will review the sites which are already AT THE TOP (or close to the
top) in the search engines and see what it is they are doing, how, and
why and compare them to your site
- They will suggest
the addition of new pages and either add them themselves for you or
suggest to you what YOU need to get done (listen to them as they know
their business)
- They will THEN try to get your site listed in as many FREE relevant sites (classifieds, blogs, Twitter, etc) as possible
- Then
they will TRY to encourage others in your industry to link back to your
site (this one is the hardest thing to get done and may take
considerable time) BUT it is very important to get it done at some point
- Then they will submit your site to the search engines
- THEN
they will wait a couple of months or so and review WHERE you are
getting traffic, what keywords are used to get there, what PAGES are
reviewed the most at your site and suggest a strategy to proceed ahead
with some changes/additions
Yep, it is a LOT of work and well worth the normal $1,500 or so they may charge you for the service.
